Agro Care Growers has acquired a majority stake in Nordic Greens, a Danish producer of greenhouse vegetables. With this step, Agro Care is strengthening its position in the Scandinavian market.
Nordic Greens, founded in 1948, is a family business that grows tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers at two locations: near Odense in Denmark and Trelleborg in Sweden. The current owner, Mads Pedersen, will retain a minority stake and will remain actively involved in the company as CEO. The lettuce company Nordic Greens Salat and part of the Danish cucumber cultivation are excluded from the acquisition, which is pending approval by the competition authorities.
With this acquisition, Agro Care is further expanding its European presence. The company currently manages an area of approximately 500 hectares in the Netherlands, France, Morocco and Tunisia. The collaboration with Nordic Greens ensures a more stable availability of greenhouse vegetables and enables Agro Care to even better serve its customers in Scandinavia.
