NPM participation Bergman Clinics has opened a new, sustainable focus clinic in Capelle aan den IJssel. The modern location is designed to meet the growing demand for planned care in the region and offers a wide range of specialist treatments.
The new clinic will replace the location at Rotterdam Zestienhoven and represents a significant expansion of the care capacity. It is expected that around 20,000 clients will be treated annually by 2030 – up from about 12,000 clients today. The focus is on planned medical care within the domains of orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, dermatology, phlebology and plastic surgery. Thanks to the 'one-stop-shop' principle, diagnostics and additional examinations such as ultrasounds, blood tests or MRIs can take place within a single visit. This contributes to reduced access times, fewer waiting days and a more efficient, patient-friendly experience.
With a surface area of 8,400 square meters, this location is the largest Bergman Clinics clinic in the Netherlands. It is housed in a fully renovated and extended former commercial property, which has been transformed into a future-proof healthcare environment. The clinic has four class 1 operating rooms, its own MRI and X-ray department, 25 single overnight rooms, in-house physiotherapy, a central sterile services department (CSSD) and spacious facilities for diagnostics. Sustainable solutions were used in the design and construction, including circular operating room wall panels, heat pumps, white roofing, energy-efficient lighting and 198 solar panels. The location is easily accessible by public transport and has 120 parking spaces for clients and visitors.
The new location is part of Bergman Clinics' broader mission to offer high-quality and accessible planned care and thus contribute to a sustainable healthcare system. Through close collaboration with general practitioners, hospitals and physiotherapists, a future-proof healthcare infrastructure in the Greater Rotterdam region is being built. The clinic was realized with the support of partners such as Triginta, Focus on Impact, Goossen Te Pas, Wessels Zeist, De Groot Installation Technology, Interflow, Activ Vastgoed and Hasselaar Architects.
