Oogziekenhuis Zonnestraal to be renamed Bergman Clinics | Ogen | NPM Capital

The nine clinics owned and operated by Oogziekenhuis Zonnestraal (Zonnestraal Eye Hospital) were renamed Bergman Clinics | Ogen (Bergman Clinics | Eyes) on 1 July 2019. Bergman Clinics and Oogziekenhuis Zonnestraal merged in January 2019 to accommodate the changing needs of Dutch consumers, who are making more informed choices when it comes to medical care and other services. Clients and health insurers alike care increasingly about the proven quality of treatments, cost management, short waiting times and the level of service provided.

At Bergman Clinics | Ogen, clients of Oogziekenhuis Zonnestraal will continue to see their own physicians at the familiar branches, receiving the same quality of treatment. The former Zonnestraal branches are located in Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Doetinchem, Emmeloord, Haarlem, Hilversum, Hoogeveen, Lelystad and Zaandam.

Alex Rulo, Medical Director at Bergman Clinics | Ogen: “Following the merger, we are the largest provider of specialised eye care provided through focus clinics. The integration of these focus clinics will allow us to even more effectively meet clients’ demand for high-quality, client-focused eye treatments.”

About Bergman Clinics Bergman Clinics, an NPM Capital portfolio company, is the largest network of focus clinics for elective medical care in the Netherlands. The medical institution specialises in treatments in orthopaedic care, eye care, skin care and plastic surgery covered by Dutch health insurers. Additionally, the company provides specialised care for stomach, colon and pelvic-floor disorders.
