De Boer Structures, specialist in the rental of fully furnished temporary accommodations for events and business solutions, has shown a strong growth in profit and revenue in 2015. Last year, revenue sharply increased by more than 24% to € 72.5 million (2014: € 58.4 million). Growth outside Europe contributed strongly with projects in Azerbaijan and the Middle East. The operating result (EBITDA) in 2015 amounted to € 7.0 million (2014: € 5.5 million). The increase of almost 27% was mainly due to the combination of strict cost controls and successful execution of the large number of projects. Net result amounted to € 3.4 million (2014: € 0.4 million).
For 2016, De Boer expects further solid growth of its profitability. A well-filled and healthy order book, strict control of fixed costs and further improvement of the distribution of its activities between Europe and the Middle East will contribute to these results. In 2016, additional investments in the expansion of tent structures will be made anticipating increasing demand. Further investments will be made to support the development of various innovative structures.
In 2015, De Boer executed several prestigious national and international projects in the market segment Events. Typical for these projects were often the large size, logistical challenges, complex construction conditions and sometimes very short construction times that challenged De Boer. Examples of such "signature" projects in 2015 were the FIS World Cup in Falun (Sweden), The First European Games in Baku (Azerbaijan), the G7 Summit in Elmau (Germany), the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht (the Netherlands), the worldwide Volvo Ocean Race and the National Day in Qatar (UAE).
In the market segment Business Solutions focus was on the accommodation for temporary offices, sports facilities, supermarkets and storage & distribution. In 2015, great attention in this segment was also dedicated for the provision of temporary accommodations for asylum seekers at various locations in the Netherlands and Germany.
Also in 2016, special projects are on the agenda with the Mobile World Congress (Spain), Formula 1 Race (Azerbaijan), Farnborough Air Show (United Kingdom), Bauma (Germany), UEFA Europa League final (Switzerland) and the World Championship Rowing (the Netherlands).
